My apologies. I don't fish those lakes and I don't know anything about them. You are right, sadly, about the forum as a whole declining. At least the catfish page. I see a few guys sharing and trying to help out their fellow anglers, and then I see a lot of guys who want a free online guide trip. And when they don't get it, they trash the page and the few good people left on it. So sorry that you are left to figure it out on your own. I guess that's why the call it fishing.

Livingston is a big body of water , drifting hasn’t been to good lately from what I hear the fish are scattered shallow to 40 feet. Hoping this cold blast will get the water temp down and help some but still a ton of water to cover and no fun when the wind gets over 10 mph. .

Yeah, TakinDrag, it has declined a bit. I think recently there's been some negativity that temporarily pushes people away but the core people that really love the sport and, more importantly, the comradery that comes with it, will still be here in the long run. It's a shame that people get their feelings hurt and bail on the whole thing. Glad our forefathers weren't like that or we wouldn't have the freedom to write what we want and to disagree with people, or to call people out, or to simply share our knowledge and experiences with whomever we want!

Let us never forget, “Hard times create strong men, strong men create good times, good times create weak men, and weak men create hard times."

We're in for some hard times ahead, but there's still a lot of strong men in this world so, bring on the good times!

Personally, I think right now there's a lot of people dealing with holiday stuff. I haven't even been able to fish much over the last month or so. I haven't really been on here much until recently but I'll be out on the water a bunch over the next two months and I'll bring whatever info I can to my fellow slime-jockeys. You know, I definitely ain't no pro, but I'll do whatever I can to help people learn and/or improve their own game. I owe it to quite a few guys on this site. I was a noob on here just a couple of years ago.

I wish I could help you with those particular lakes but I've never fished them before. Don't give up on the forum though. There's a lot of good that can come of it. Hope you did ok out there!

My 3 cents, and I'm a cat'n expert doncha know! (I laugh as I type that).

The catfish are biting. Why? They gotta eat!!!

hammer

The secret is finding where, when, and on what.

Fresh cut bait, find some structure, and some patience. I have found the winter bite to be the best bite, and well worth wrapping up and getting out. I have had fewer skunk days in the winter, they still happen, but by and large the best time for me.

Good luck!

Went to Somerville Monday, great day of fishing. Perfect wind and temp. Bait was caught in 18-20 ft of water. Caught about 8 blues, 20lb, 2 10lb, and couple of 5 pounders
