Is the 34 worth the money ?
I bought a new 12” screen and now have the 32 still in the box .Just wondering if I should take it back and go ahead and spend the extra money to get a 34 .

The answer I have received from this query has been . A larger screen is better suited than the 34 " with regard to recreational fishing " !!

I have not upgraded to the 34. I’m still running the software version that they had before the release of the 34. Your decision may be influenced by the version of software your Livescope is running. Perhaps some other folks can offer you some guidance on that.

I have no plan to upgrade mine. I can catch fish just fine with my current setup.

Good luck!

I just got Livescope a few months ago and went with the 34 since I didn't already have one.

The way I heard it from all the fishermen around here was this:

* If you already have the 32, then the 34 isn't worth the upgrade.
* If you don't have anything yet and can afford it, the 34 is worth the extra money.

The 34 is clearly, simply, better. But the 32 is great too. You will enjoy learning either one.

LVS32 on the left, LVS34 on the right. 1242xsv unit. Wylie dive member in the water standing on a sunken boat on our education trip with them. Both systems are set to factory defaults straight out of the box.

I have also heard that the LVS34 shines when it comes to scanning distance. The LVS32 will get you out to 60ft while the LVS34 will get you out to 100ft.

I'm no pro, I have a 1222 with no update and the 32 transducer, and from the videos I have seen, my picture is way better than the 34 with the update and I can almost tell what kind of fish I am looking at. Again I am no pro and mainly crappie fish. I can see my 1\16 jig with no problem. I recently had a friend fishing with me using minnows and you can clearly see which direction the minnow is facing. Of course you have to turn the transducer to get the best image. And it was so cool to see a crappie come up, take the minnow and swim horizontally. My buddy didn't even know he had a fish on, I had to tell him to set the hook! Just my experience.

Are you running the original 32 software or the newest software? The original was great, then they added perspective and the ghost tree took over.

I'm not sure if it was the original software, but it's the one before everyone started having issues. I usually wait to do the update and see if anyone is having issues. Good thing I waited. It was the 19.1 update that I stayed away from. So mine is 18 something.

Well, since a person can’t buy that version of lvs32 and they won’t release the software from way back then, it’s not really a comparison. Only items available at this time are comparable.
