There seems to be a lot of you tube videos on removing oil injection. I have a 96 mercury 150xr6. Is this something I need to worry about? Some parts I should replace? I’ve never had any issues with my outboard. Any input is appreciated

It’s more reliable then people think and when deleted somehow someone always manages to gas up without premix.

The only problem I ever have with the oil injection system, instead of the premix is with me dumbing the oil in the fuel I don't have to worry about how thick the oil is in the bulk oil tank and how hard of time the oil pump was going to have sucking out of that tank when it's 30 degrees or less.
Heck when it's less than 40 I really don't want to run my old 2-stroke and I really like to fish sometimes that the weather is not ideal.

I had one with the delete and it ran great, until it fouled the plugs, which was often,, they simply run too rich at ilde at a 50 to 1 mix... If you dont do alot of idling or go long periods of time at headway speed, as I did, you may not have to change the plugs as often.. I had 3 sets in my boat. I was guiding at the time and it was frustrating trying to get the motor started, then goose it so it wouldnt die. once it got going, it ran finem until I had to start it again. I almost had a few customers launched out of my boat. as I would ask them to sit down as soon as I started the motor, and they would stand up after I started it and start dicking around with something or another. When I repowered to my one fideen yammy, I just left the merc at the dealership .

COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !
