With the recent cold front Surface Water Temperatures have dropped from 76 to 62 degrees. Southeast Winds blowing 13 to 20 mph muddied up some of the areas where we had been catching them good. Started fishing drains back in the marsh and found 1 area where the fish were biting good for a half hour or so and then they moved on us. Tried a couple more drains and caught a few stragglers, but no real numbers. Moved a couple times and fished some points close to drains with little success. Moved to a mud flat and fished some points, and caught some really healthy trout and slot and oversize redfish, as they were up in these areas warming up. The bite today was very finicky, and we missed a number of good fish, and didn’t get our limits, but still a great day overall. The success today came on 1/4 oz spoons, and 1/4 oz jig heads with Downsouth tails in Limetreuse. I still have some days open between Christmas and New Years, so reach out if you want to get on the water and stretch some lines.

Planning a couple Flounder trips in the next week, so hopefully so, as in our Trout/Red trips we have run across a few but most are undersized. I do hear of people catching them though. I will post a report after going, and thanks for asking, and Merry Christmas !
