Got to the lake around 8:30 & fished until 3:30 when we started to get some light rain. It looked like it was coming, but downtown La Grange got the good shower while the lake missed most of it. It was really a super day on the lake. The weather was GREAT with light winds & a lot of clouds. Water temp was up 10 degrees from last 3 trips...It was mid 70s in most areas fished. The lake was very crowded...some anglers were there to pre fish a tournament to be held tomorrow. The lake should be just packed this weekend. So, I ended the day with 39 bass & 1 catfish. No BIGS again today but got a few around 3-3.5 lbs. Saw a lot of fish being caught today & talked to several anglers that had similar results. Looks like the weather won't be great next week so glad I had a chance to go today...even with the crowds... [Linked Image]

Only 39 bass? You couldn’t just get one more. roflmao What a great day. The weather has been really nice. I am going to have to make it down there one of these days.

Barry...Ya know...I thought I had 40 bass, but realized on the way home I forgot about the catfish... violin

Chuck...I can still catch a few small ones around the rocks, but the slabs go into hibernation or something...What kind of success are you having ? I know you are probably in process of switching over to trout right about now...

I saw you heading to the discharge around 9:00. Looked like 5 or 6 other boats there. Lake was busy and had some sketch encounters with boats with no etiquette. Small lake, crowded and bent pole pattern makes for a frustrating day! Like you said, water warmed 10 degrees and fish moved up making them easy for everyone to catch.

David...I was one of 7 boats in that area, but everyone was respectful. There was only one boat along the dam that I would have liked to have removed the drain plug from b4 they launched. The bait fish (shad) were everywhere I went, so guessing they moved up now that the water temp has increased. Did you have a good day except for the jerks?

Ended up catching a ton, after a slow start. I started deep because 2 weeks ago that’s where I found em. About 11:00 I moved shallow and started catching the snot out em, only problem was size, most were under 2 lbs. They were even schooling on bait for a while but the schoolers were hard to catch. 7-12 ft was where I caught most.

Fished Saturday and Sunday, Saturday was crazy with boats between the kayak tourney and other clubs. Sunday was great except for the north wind. Results for our paper tournament group were lots of limits of 2-3# fish. 20” was big bass Saturday, 22” on Sunday. Most fish caught on soft plastics rigged any way you choose, but I watched some young guys catch good numbers of mostly small fish on deep diving crankbaits. Numbers of 12-13” fish are encouraging considering the cast netters, it’s a great fishery. None of us could figure out the bigger fish we expect to catch there.

Yesenia...Agree...No ice in our beers smile

Stickem...Have had a great year on FCL for bigs (over 5 lbs.) but haven't caught any that size since the 1st week of October...just be patient...they will be back sooner or later...
