I have been told that there is some decent fishing on the SE side of the lake side of the lake near the point.

Be safe,

Limestone is a good lake with quality fish. Lots of timber so I’d take it easy and get to know your way around or you’ll be needing a new lower unit. Good shallow or offshore you can take your pick. I’ve never fished past the bridge even more timber up there. Lake is pretty low right now. Take a day and just idle around you’ll find something you like. Lots of boat houses but I’m sure most don’t have water under them right now with it 5.5’ low.

at 5.5 low can you launch on the lake? SE BASS Federation use to have this lake on there schedule but low water levels have plagued this lake in the last 10 years.

I've never fished it, but my buddy has a place in Buffalo and has a day or two in that lake. They've always done good with catfish, bass I'm not sure

Plagued for years? Limestone is low now but hasn't been before that, it is or was a constant level lake for the intake pumps for the NRG power plant east of there.

well I'm not on it alot just been involved in more than a few tournaments getting cancelled due to low water levels over the last 10 years. One year at about 4 ft low the only ramp you could even think about using was on the far north end. wish I had a picture of me launching. heck one of my better days of fishing too.

I went to take my girls to a high school tournament a couple months ago. I backed off two ramps, and we went home. I think it was about the same water level then as now. I saw most backing in off the bank. I just didn't want to fish that bad. That tournament they had some good weight.

Only been on it once a few years back. The lower SE and SW parts of the lake were pretty decent to me just running the banks and docks with senko's, spinnerbaits, and chatter baits.

Everything on your bass boat is broken......You just don't know it yet.

I launched a couple of weekends ago, its not for the faint at heart but can be done. I used Limestone County #2, #3 is unusable, and I haven't been to the dam in years. We have a house out there, it is very low, most docks are either barely in the water or not touching water at all. Offshore bite was slow, best fish were in inches of water. Find a row of docks barely touching water and work slow between the docks. Ignore your graphs, the whites will keep you chasing your tail. Feel free to PM me if you more details and actually want to brave the launch process. I launched a 20ft boat fine, but was never completely comfortable until completely off the trailer or completely on.
