9.6 on Rapala with 6lb test on spinning rod....back in mid 80's i lived in Wildwood subdivision/Macon,Ga. which had small lake and only allowed small engines or trolling motors...had fished this lake couple times and only caught a few small fish...this particular afternoon,I was headed back to ramp when i saw a fish break out in deeper water......only topwater i had tied on was a rapala on a spinning rod with 6lb test.... threw it out where fish had broken and what appeared to be small fish swirled and pulled it under....set the hook and I'm thinking maybe a 2lb fish....it kept pulling harder and harder and I'm thinking maybe a 4lb fish..with 6 lb test which hadn't been re-tied recently,I couldn't put much pressure...finally get it up closer to boat and realized it was helluva big fish... .I was fighting this fish about 30 yards out in the lake beside the dam where a busy road runs across it....happened to look up and probably 15 cars had pulled off road and were watching me fight this fish....finally get him in the boat.. ...not often do you get cheers for landing a fish but i wish i had a video of the people clapping, hurrahing and blowing car horns when I held that fish up....didn't have scales in boat back then so took him to nearby grocery store and weighed it then took back to lake and released the fish ......

Had an 8 about 6 years ago in a Yellow Magic. But I hooked a real biggun about 05 on a Yellow Magic and my co-angler knocked it off with the net in a tournament.

Bad [censored]! I have dreams of that happening on Athens, but it always ends with one car and a couple boats laughing.
