Went yesterday. Found birds working over the tabletop area and caught a few there, but the fish were moving fast and hard to stay on. Then went into Little Mineral around 3pm and found birds working in the back of a cove, fish were stacked solid and my son and I had a blast. He was dead sticking and I was slow rolling a Constant Pursuit Outfitters Thump Daddy. We caught fish after fish as the rain poured down; a memory we won’t soon forget!

Yes sir! If I would have looked at the radar, we probably would have hauled butt. But who has time for that when fish are falling out of the cooler…..

Z71 did you do any good yesterday? I haven't fished in 3 weeks or so been out of town and have no idea what the striper are doing on Texoma.

I left Highport to the right and fished beyond the last island on the left. Caught 3 17 inch and lost an over in 40 feet then caught a couple unders around Preston pt.

I went this morning with two others and it was pretty tough for us. Only found birds working in one small area, caught three in about 10mins and it was over. Burned a lot of fuel and didn’t find any other birds. Caught one more on a wind blown point in 15ft of water. Left at noon with 4 in the cooler. Not a good day….

I bit the bullet about 4 years ago booked couple trips with Chris at Striper Express. I did it around this time of the year and he really opened my eyes on how to fish the lake. His knowledge, transparency & passion were all noticed and I felt like a kid in candy store soaking every moment. It was worth the investment with using electronics and studying structure a huge benefit of the time spent with him.

We found fish yesterday in 10-20ft on longer flat points.. Using electronics was key to staying on them as the schools are moving allot.. Swimbait for the most part hugging the bottom.. Fished for about 4 hours with 10 overs and 20 box fish.. I just hold the water temp holds for a bit longer..

Trusty me, I would love to try that candy also, just can’t bite that bullet at the current moment. I have been with several guides in the past - crappie and striper - and the experience and gained knowledge is absolutely worth the expense, and then some.

Great job on locating those fish and loading the boat; that’s a great day on the water! Obviously finding active fish is the key to a successful day on the water. I feel pretty confident in my abilities to put fish in the boat once I find fish, but unfortunately that’s where I struggle. Usually if I don’t have the birds to help me, I’m in trouble; it’s like the lake is immediately void of any aquatic life…. As far as your success on these points, are these areas that you will typically find them every single trip, or is it a different point/points each trip? I know these fish move ALOT and trying to hone in on where I might find them when the birds aren’t there to help.

Buddy ScottyP took me Sunday 12/11 from noon to 530. We caught half of our fish East of the islands in 37ft to 65ft DSing flukes and half of our fish West on the islands in 40+ ft DSing and sassy under birds. Birds were helpful at the last hr just west of islands in 11 fow.

Total count 20, with 4 overs 25" to 27" (all DS white ice, pink flukes and one on sassy) 9 good boxes and 7 dinks.

For those who are making the long drive, DS is still early and not hot and heavy yet. You can still get a bite every 10 mins or so. I would wait till temp drops a few more degrees if you want higher bite ratio. Water temp Sunday was 55f at the deep areas and 58f at the dock.

Hope that helps. Good luck guys. This was my first trip to bigT since May.

It's different seems each trip.. What I have found is the places where the Birds are in the water (pelicans, gulls, loons). and not feeding, the fish aren't far away.. Sunday the fish were sitting on the inside/downstream side of the points and on top of the points. Yes, helps to have livescope can scan and target casts. More than anything is keeping bait hugging bottom, slow, slow retrieve. I'm using Bone/Chartuse Swimbaits. I've also found that once you hook a fish you tend to pull the school to the boat. If someone is with you have them drop bait straight down dead stick, you'll get double hook ups.

Were catching 4 to 5 fish off a spot then have to move as the school busts up or I loose.. Good luck, it's probably about to change with this cold weather coming in.. I think can still catch just not the numbers.. Good hunting

Good report ! The birds mostly terns are starting to arrive on PK. They are on strike most of the time just sitting on the bank in a cove surrounded with flooded timber . They gotta work sometime !
