Looking at replacing my TM batteries with Lithium but can't figure out why to spend $700 per battery for a 12v 100ah with 5 year warranty when you can find some not so well recognized TM batteries brands for less than $300 per. Do see one $700 with 11 year warranty but even thats only 5 year replacement then prorated for the remainder.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks

I've bought lithium batteries before. Hot rod type stuff.

My 2015 Camaro needed a new battery. The factory replacement was $600+. It lasted 7 years. Replaced it with a Wallyworld special, 3 year warranty. $130. That's pro-rated. I'll be lucky if the battery last 2 years.

The lithium are lighter weight, dry cell. No acid spillage and the warranty is better then a lead acid. Charging can be a pain.

ionic brand is good, sartin marine has them

drewcraft is excellent for online (no tax/shipping is included).

I got 3 50ah 12v for my garmin force and just got the 125ah start battery (love me some credit. lol). I would rather have the 3 50ah so if one goes bad I can still run on 2 with the garmin.

check out the warranty, drewcraft has been very fast with responses to questions and is priced like most others.

the ionic are a good brand from my research. you can charge them with a minn kota precision or a noco genius with agm settings (I have the minn kota 440 precision and put it on a 3 hr. a night timer) and drewcraft has some good prices on charger included packages.

Tiltman sells ionic. He owns a Napa in Wylie I believe. Look him up.

Many guys are running the cheaper lithium’s: chins, weize, ampere time and haven’t had any problems. These batteries are around the $350 mark for 100ah, none have Bluetooth. The guy that breaks down lithiums on YouTube has said all the cheap batteries above are good buys. He prefers SOK, but they seem to be out of stock often on their marine batteries. I’ll probably end up ordering some weize or ampere times for the TM or graphs. Now I will run a better brand on the cranker, if I get one for that application.

Went all in on Ionics last year but wouldn’t hesitate to use some cheap Amazon ones mentioned above for my trolling motor. As for a cranking battery I wouldn’t take a chance on a cheapo. The Ionics BMS on their 125a is proven and the reason I went with them.

I did all Chins on my 24v TM and Noco chargers. Not had the boat out since. You can get a small device on Amazon that adds BT to those batteries.

Tried Amped and considered Dakota until TMD clued me in on Ionics , work great and we sell a bunch of em now.

$349 for a single 50 AH 12V

so a good value in my opinion

I’m not a tournament guy, but consider myself a serious fisherman, and there’s no way I could justify the cost for myself. Lighter weight would be nice, but the cost payout just isn’t there for me. Especially considering I’ve had great luck with Walmart deep cycle batteries at about $120 each.

I am thinking about switching to lithium when my current deep cycles kick the bucket. I have heard different opinions on using lithium for the cranking battery. I know they now make lithium batteries with the CCA that my Optimax requires but still concerned with the alternator charging a lithium battery. I have an alternator charger that charges my TM batteries when the big motor is running. With it I seem to be getting a little longer life out of the deep cycle TM batteries.

I just bought 2 12v 100amp power Queen that have the Bluetooth monitor system in them, payed right at 620 shipped! My buddy has had power Queen in his for a year no problems at all! He initially had 36v agm but went with the 24v China batteries to try um out! He said the 2 12v 100 amp lithiums last longer then his 36v system

You only need 50 amps for the TM batteries.
Lithiums have been steadily falling in $.
Go with Ionics!
