We packed for an over night fishing trip, except we had to pack extra light. We were fishing out of our 12 ft Jon boat so we were limited on space. We started fishing where we had left off last weekend and fish were still very active.

On this trip there was lots of spotted gar feeding on top on butterflies and were also hitting shad. Our jigs had to compete with that bait. We fooled a couple of gar with our jigs.

We fished from 3-8pm. Then we looked for a spot on the bank to pitch a tent. Set up and crashed out. No night fishing too many long leggers. Did I mention it was hot 🥵, but we had a fan.

In the morning we picked up and got back on the water. We fished all the way back to the boat ramp. Caught more Rios redear, bass and crappie.

These two are a mating pair. I caught the female and Leo caught the male both out of the same spot.

I caught these two brother cats back to back on the same jig that were feeding along the bank.

It was a great pre front weekend.
All fish were caught on JIGLYF jigs and released to swim another day.

Super nice fish, pics & video. You guys live in the Rio capital of the world. I have to ask...what is a "Long Legger" ? Is it like Sasquash & only comes out at night... noidea
