I had a good day carp fishing this evening. I caught 4 carp and a catfish on range cubes, including this nice mirror carp. I really enjoy looking at the variety of patterns on mirror carp.

Never seen one of those, neet looking fish. Are each of the scales that much bigger sized that are making that pattern?
I have zoomed in on this pic of yours and it looks like the scales shape and size are making the pattern. If so, those scales are huge in comparison to like the common carp. Either way really nice fish...

Yes the scales are much bigger and every fish has a different pattern. I will post a few and I am sure multi-species and some others can add some examples. roflmao

Leather carp are common carp without scales. Many carp anglers would consider this fish a leather carp, since it has so few scales. Leather carp are much less common in Texas than mirror carp.

Looks like Granbury Lake. Lot of Mirror carp in that lake.
