Hey everyone, I’ll be making a trip to Austin and have 1 day to fish.
Can anyone recommend a body of water that holds carp???

Austin is like the carp capital of Texas too. Town Lake and Lake Travis are the closest. The problem is that those fish seem to do best with pre-baiting. Do a little google map research for the nearest public access to where you will be and try to get out an chum an area to fish. Those lakes have produced some of the biggest carp and buffalo in the state. Good luck.

One day isn't quite enough to guarantee anything. You may want to contact some of the locals and see if they'll chum a spot for you. A few dollars could help convince them!

Lake Austin has some excellent carp fishing. Emma Long park is a popular spot.
