This is probably the weakest part of my game. I fished yesterday and got nothing. I fished similar conditions last week and got nothing. Marking fish everywhere, fished mid-depths, fished deep water and fished the shallows. Fresh bait, no luck. Yesterday was a confusing day for me because it was between fronts that were really only 24 hours apart. So was it post front or pre front? Either way, I'm not sure what if anything I could do differently to boat some fish under those conditions. What say you TFF?

I swear the fish just get in a mood when the fronts are blowing through. I have caught some before literally in the big timber with cold fronts blowing. Those fish had their nose literally right on the big stumps and timber. I presented the bait vertical and best I ever could figure was hitting them with the bait basically to get the bite. Then you had basically, combat fishing where you hammer the drag down on your reel, so as to get the fish out of the wood...

Just my take on cold fronts anyway...

Saturday, post front, 2 boat trip boated 38, 33, 25, 25, several teens and about 16 eaters up to 10lbs. The fish were much deeper than I was expecting going in and it took us until 1030-1100 or so to figure that out.
Sunday, Post/Pre front, lol. Different lake, we started about 830, made one drift, and boated 28, 34, 35, and a kicker 49.75" long x 35" girth. Ya'll do the math on that one as we only had our 50lb scales on board.
GW was too far out to get to us before the fish would have died and the marina with a certified scale was closed and calls to the manager there went to VM. We had to release her or driver to BP Garland. Client didn't want to kill the fish, nor did we. She was released.

I'm not sure you could have done anything different, some days it's like that. I do believe that fish will eat at some point, each day, regardless of the weather. it's just a matter of being lucky enough to hit the feeding fish at the right time.

That sure sounds like a hot trip lol... would have been neat to know what that one big fish weight was...
