Not me. My transom. I got the O/B off and removed the transom cap. Now if I can just get some decent weekend weather. This weekend was high of 35, with wind chill in the 20's. That is deer hunting weather. Not boat repair weather.

Wow... That's a project right there. Good luck. And I hope you get a deer too!

Yes, the cold weather and trying to get fiberglass resin to setup is not a good mix. You can get all the components gathered up, sometimes getting the marine grade plywood is hard to find, but that, resin I like some woven roven mat between my plywood and have been guilty of screwing it all together all mopped with resin then let it set for a few days before final cut to fit and stick in the Transom. It's just the cold and/or wet weather has me held up when doing these sorts of projects...

If you going to put the effort in it to do it, I wouldn't go back with wood. I would use Seacast or something similar.

Get your chainsaw ready! An electric saw worked best for me with no fumes to deal with. A Remington of Portland from Harbor if you dont have one.

Agree with Fish Killer. I did Seacast in an old Kingfisher and it was beautiful and very strong when done!

I haven't done this kind of work, but do worry about it in my future. The Seacast solution looks well thought out, IMO. Also, this looks like their primary business (I think that's important too).

It's a aluminum boat (2004 Lund). I am going to order a Coosa composite board for the new transom. While it's opened up, I'll put a new bilge pump and live well pump in as well.

I like the idea of anything composite if you can get it.

I did a ceramic goo pour in mine - worked Great. I did have to close the bottom of transom off with aluminum square tubing. I used Arjay : bought 5 gallons and used 4.25-4.5 gallons.

Ran it for 4-5 years afterwards till I Sold the boat.
