I was told not to run an AGM with my 2001 VMAX since it has a stator. Who told you this?

Go research on Bass Boat Central I found a few posts over there where people said they were running them without issues.

I was told not to run an AGM with my 2001 VMAX since it has a stator. Who told you this? I've also been told this by a very seasoned mechanic. My old Nitro had a 120 Force on it w/ stater. I kept having charging issues and upgraded everything. Batteries were the Sears PM1, Minn Kota Digital charger, and new cables. Come to find out the stator didn't like the AGM PM-1. My mechanic put on a new stator which he stated was more up to date on the charging profile. This helped keep the battery longer life on the water. Sold the boat about 5 months after, so I can only attest to the 5 months.

I just bought one a couple of months ago and it has been great. I will say that I read multiple threads on BBC that Dual Pro chargers do not fully charge the X2's making their longevity compromised. I had already replaced my old Dual Pro with a Noco so I should be good. The 4 year warranty is nice for sure. I have a dual pro. charges at around 14.2V and then hovers around 13.2V after fully charged and charge taken off. seems like it works just fine for me. my 2 Duracell AGM batteries hover around 12.9-13.0 after charged, so X2 hovers higher

I am running two low them on my crank side for start and all electronics. They are great batteries I have had zero problems and don’t ever have any power issues on long days on the water. Highly recommend them

Anyone know if my Minn Kota 315D will properly charge the battery? I suspect it will but wasn't sure and I can't find the charging requirements for this battery online.
