I have the hardest time getting a great downscan image using my hds live 16 and the 3n1 transducer. Please send and post your images of your downscan using the hds live and the 3n1 transducer so that I can compare my images.

Doesn't matter for me if the in hull transducer is off or not, my downscan picture is still terrible in comparison to my side imaging picture...side imaging looks great...

Dang man, how much better do you want it??? Just kidding, these are from my old lss2 transducer. I don’t use DI anymore, all I use is 2d, SI and AT. I have found the 800 freq to work better on my 3-1, you might try it, if you’ve been running 455.

I have the same issue with my Live 12" using the 3n1. The down image is junk; side and 2d are perfect. I have a new 3n1 I'm thinking about swapping too just in case it's the Transducer.

Interesting. I have a HDS Carbon12 and dont have any issues at all with my 3n1 transducer on down imaging. Actually, one of the crispest images i have seen in a while.

My side imaging and 2d picture from thr in hull transducer are great...It's just the downscan picture that looks terrible in comparison to the sidescan picture...I was told I had a bad transducer by a lowrance guru that got in my boat, so I exchanged the 3n1 transducer for a brand new 3n1 transducer...Again my sidescan and 2d picture from the in hull transducer look great, but the downscan picture Is still terrible ot was nit the transducer...
