I am heading to tawalkoni to day. First time on that lake in more than 30 years. I am not looking for information as I will be fishing the highschool tournament there on Novermeber 12. At my age 75 and in pretty good shape I still tell couple of my buddies here in tyler where or the area I will be fishing JUST IN CASE! something happens. Years ago with no cell phones or gps stuff have no idea how I made it to the lake and back. But IF you see an ole guy out there is a white Ranger aluminum boat say HI! Us old guy like to talk about "remember when".
Getting a bit hard to step up on the casting deck now, Can here my dad "big bill" talking about that step at times. Hard to get up at 3-4 and fish all day but Going to keep doing it till one of my grandkids decides he/she will take me fishing. I am not the fisherman I once was, but there is a ton of information in my head , on the many note books, and maps that I have collected during my liife on the water.
Funny now that I reflect that I was #33 in line when they opened Martin creek, Took off work at 2 am to drive over there and fish. Now I am watching the power plant lake disappear, Many nights spent on Monticello near the RR track .
So with this last gulp of coffee I head off on one more fishing adventure.
