New kayak angler here and I live in Denton.

Is the Trinity a feasible or decent fishery? I fish LLELA and have seen folks put in there with a yak, but not to fish.

Are there any sections of the trinity that are good fishing? If yes, put in and take out (where)?

Also, I prefer streams, anyone willing to share a favorite kayak float/fish within a couple of hours of DFW?

if it ain't chartreuse, it's got no use.

Todd I fish the Trinity almost weekly. I go to the kayak launch off of Hebron pkwy in Lewisville. Mostly bass fishing but have been going for more cats. I do not always catch anything but I always have fun. Holler at me, I cannot tell you we will catch anything but I really like being out there.

The trinity does have fish. Around denton is the greenbelt. I've never caught any big cats in that section. Do your research on the trinity because of the dams and log jams. Typically I feel like rivers and streams are best in the spring. Best for newer paddlers to keep a constantly changing view. Lakes will hold more fish.

The Brazos River is much prettier. You can enter below Possum Kingdom dam or below the Lake Whitney dam. Use Google Maps.

I will; my fall is kinda booked up with camping and a trip to the coast chasing my first redfish. Thx
