Might have to go to West.

Only place we eat in Hillsboro is El Conquistador.

I'm glad there are wine drinkers in this world ..... it saves more beer for the rest of us.

Hooten Hollern BBQ in Whitney is pretty good, at least their turkey and potato salad are. The ribs are really good when they are fresh, so call and ask about those....the brisket is meh at best. To be honest, their fried fish is the best thing on the menu and when they have it as all you can eat, GO!!!!! There is a little BBQ trailer in Whitney on 1713 just passed the Dollar General, but before you get to McCown Valley Park...very, very good, but a bit pricey. German food, if you like it, is excellent at Zur Autobahn in Meridian, but they are only open Wednesday through Saturday, I think...and then for lunch and dinner only, so call. Oh and Morgan Street Burgers in Meridian, FREAKING BEST BURGERS around...well, they are tied with Dough City Burgers in Red Oak, which actually gets a slight edge because they have more options.

Best bet is to go to Waco. Guess Family BBQ is a solid contender! Don't get sucked into the place south of town on 35 service road barf

Looks like we sold the lake house just in time! That place was awesome! I hate that it's not still open!

What has happed to you does not define who you are-

HOW you react to what happens to you DOES!

Not BBQ but try Cactus Grill in Meridian, you won't be disappointed. CF Chicken with jalapeno cram gravy is my favorite.

As far as BBQ in these parts there aren't that many. Po Campo in Hico was good but they're closed now. Guess covid got them.

I've caught these guys a few times and they serve up some great BBQ! They get over to Whitney weekly or so.
