She's gone now... her ashes spread all along the southern side of the Packery Channel jetty (wish I had made that video). But I managed one last fun day down at Bob Hall pier and man it was one for the record books!

Man, I love to fish, but not to that extreme. Enjoyed the vid and the look at the wild weather.

Wow I caught my first saltwater fish off Bob Hall pier. I was around 10 years old and the year was 1972. I'm sixty now and I still remember everyone wanting my pompano because I guess they were pretty rare and good eating. I also remember the shark fisherman taking over the pier at night and slanging out those huge baits. Any large sharks were hung on the pole in front of the pier. It was a fascinating thing to see as a kid.

Got many fond memories of that pier myself. Sneaking out onto it with my surfboard to jump into good surf. Met some pretty girls surfing there and had some epic rides. I do hope that they do it justice and build that thing back up the way it needs to be... the people managing this project right now are worrying me. Future generations deserve to be able to make memories like we did.
