i am starting a new high school boat captain service, i know most of the high school tournament lakes real well. check me out on google. Clint Farris the price is very reasonable per tournament plus gas and ramp fees < let me know if i can bee of assistance to any of the high school teams . 817-308-1002 THSBA certified with all safety and background checks as well. Honest question here. Are we sure this is legal? I know teams can't hire a guide 30 days prior to a tournament, and I know you can't captain a team that is not a direct family member if you have guided on a lake in the last 30 days. Can you hire a guide for tournament day? Not trying to bust your chops. Just really curious if it's legal.

yes <i am not a guide since july, it is not illegal to hire a boat captain for thsba

I already asked THSBA, yes it's "legal".
It's up to you how you view hiring someone to take your kid fishing.
I'm not a fan.

Well seems like a big help to those without a captain\boat. My neighbor\kid has to bankfish which makes it super tough. Idk. I guess I donโ€™t see what the problem is with providing the service.

Personally, as a boat captain, I think this is BS! Having a guide as a boat captain is the same thing as a world champion team roper bringing his horse for a high school kid to rope from. Captain's fees are more expensive than the scholarship money, so this is all about showing out if you have the cash. This is a very bad look for THSBA!
