Let me add, I don't wish any harm to the Gulf Coast, but it seems to me the only way out of this drought is a tropical event that brings us in North Texas a bunch of rain...

I'm definitely with you Tim. I think we need another 8-10 inches of rain soon! Hopefully not all in one day though! Rockwall, Collin, and Hunt county are still classified as being under a Moderate Drought rating. I'm sure though, looking at Lavon, it seems that rating should be a little worse than "moderate".

It always seems to be not enough, or way too much!

It makes me sad driving to my boat storage across the bridge at Ticky Creek on Lake Lavon. It's practically a desert, and the boat ramps are now right at the end stops. The water was still at 86F last week when I fished.

No wonder the fish are going crazy.

Everyone chant!

Let it get it done, just like to see it come farther west to the desert of Texas... heck we had 3-4"'s of rain a few weeks ago... I was hooting about finally some run-off to our main lake. Heck it didn't come up 3/4"...

That rain is all gone now and I am struggling to keep my grass alive...

So I also don't won't anyone hurt of coarse, but please God let it rain
, just not 40 days and 40 nights...

I am with you... Cedar Creek is almost back down to where it was before the big rain a few weeks ago. And the 10 day forecast is not looking good at all.

Need about 10 days of rain - couple of inches a day. Not 10 inches in 12 hours LOL.

Cool weather would be nice also... if we are begging!

Rain Rain - please come play...

I went and checked on the boat and stuff yesterday. Cedar Creek is officially 3.81' low. I have about 10-12" of water under my dock. Waded around in the mud and put some crappie structure under the dock. Looked at the bottom of the boat... all looks good but lonely! LOL

Really need some rain. A nice tropical storm that takes about 3 days to clear. With another one a few days behind! LOL

10 day forecast does not look very good.

Good side is that I have a setup figured out for my duck boat. Will not be as comfortable as the big boat, and not as many rods, etc. but better than sitting on the couch and fussing about it! Do want it to cool off just a little bit. No shade on the little boat - old and spoiled I guess.

Ken,

Here is to old and being spoiled lol. Well the old part, not much we do about that one, it tags along I guess. I do like being spoiled, I just don't think I am spoiled enough yet though lol...

Ken, I watched the behind the scenes forecast discussion yesterday and there in no rain in our future for the next 12 to 14 days. I was hoping that Ian would come this way but it looks like he is headed to Florida. Prayers for those in the Tampa area as it looks like it could be bad there...

All the rain possibilities of the tropical Strom has hit the west end of Cuba and this really nasty plaguing high pressure that has hung out of the state of Texas all summer, has put a hard right turn in the track of the storm into Ft. Meyers area, taking all the moisture...

The track of this storm was perfect to have came through the islands just right into the Gulf and up into Texas. This upper level high pressure system has go to find a new place to hang around than Texas. Sure had been hoping the tracking they had been forecasting on this system was going to be wrong.

Sure nobody needs the storm, Texas just needs the rain.

RAIN.... finally...

I am guessing an inch today already. We so need it so bad and much more, but at least it's something. I took my wife out for brunch this morning, and it was raining so hard we had to sit it out in my truck when we returned home to avoid a soaking running to the door. I was sat in the truck with a big smile on my face watching all the water rush past the kerb.

Surprising to see the barges on the Tennessee being half full. I'm guessing that is due to the low water levels on the Mississippi. I guess the TVA has reached winter pool and stopped releasing water. No gates were open this weekend. But the catfish bite has turned on. Our first stop got us a 18, 6, 11, and a 12 lb fish in less than 30 minutes. The dink bite was in full force. We caught a large number of the smaller ones using nightcrawlers. At our last stop, we thought we had a fish on. Reeled in a blue that had our live bluegill in its jaws and held onto it until we tried to net it. It never had the hook in its mouth the whole time.
