Makes The Classic with a win in the final Open. That’s taking ti to the final day, final chance. Plus $40K to. boot. Keith was only 64 in AOY in the Elite this year. 47 in 2021. Last three years have been tough for him. It’s a battle to make the Classic each year.

Great guy, had a chance to chat him up at a Cast For Kids event in Waco a few years ago. Super nice and seemingly quite humble. Congrats on the W and Classic berth!, well deserved!

Good to see a guy getting it done actually fishing instead of playing video games. My buddy drew a 19 year old kid Friday who never made a cast unless he saw a fish on his screen.

congrats to a great guy indeed! Had the opportunity to fish with him a couple of times on Amistad when he was guiding there before he moved to East Texas.
Very humble man and a heck of a stick obviously, was a couple of the most memorable guide trips I have ever been on.

I’ve fished with Combs on Rayburn, great offshore angler. He stayed in the top ten for several years in AOY points. His last couple years he’s had some tough times. This win is well deserved!

Maybe they should fish Rayburn more often. cheers

Glad to see a local win, but I was more impressed with the second place guys catching. Combs probably has 500 waypoints on that lake, and a thousand spots more he doesn’t need a waypoint to find. The guy in second was hanging with FAR LESS time on that lake.

He was sitting outside the takeoff area catching them on Live Scope. I’m more impressed with the guy who won actually fishing

I think they were both fishing. One was fishing off of significant history, one went to the dam and used his equipment to catch schoolers.

Which would have won on a lake neither had ever fished? I’d put my money on the guy that doesn’t rely on years worth of time on one lake. That’s why I was more impressed with the guy in 2nd. It’s just my observation. You don’t have to like it.

The guy in second needs to learn forward facing sonar .
Forrest Gump ( the kid) was on the dam catching lots of two pounders . .
