Well alot of those decisions made were because nat gas was so cheap, that may change soon.

Coal was on the out well before Obama, but think his admin produced legislation or an exec order that really put the nail in the coffin

The regulations put on coal burning power plants are so significant, it’s forcing power companies to shut down CCP plants.

Pirkey is the next next spring.

Welsh in 2028.

Just a matter of time before they are all gone and we are reliant on other fuel sources.

Maybe I need to go back to school. I thought congress made and passed laws. Not some dictator or the EPA with their own agenda.
Sure could have used those extra mega watts those coal plants provided couple years ago. They think this country, military and economy can run on wind, sunshine and pixie dust.
Now we got another dictator that decided fossil fuel and borders are bad. They can make up any law they want to and not enforce the laws we have?
Think I will decide to stop paying my ridiculous property taxes and see what happens to my A.

No doubt, but my point its been in the works for many years, I remember Bush touting clean coal technologies to try and keep it in the mix. I agree it does not make sense, and especially since we don't seem to be adding more plants. But I could be wrong.

I hate to see Pirkey close down as I am only 18 miles away and it takes me about 22 minutes to get there.
