Dunno what's been going on lately. Last 3 or 4 trips out I haven't gotten a single bite.

I'm fishing shallow, deep, main lake points, back in coves, upper and lower creeks, timber, humps, gravel, etc. I'm about to go out and get a couple dozen minnows and nightcrawlers and slay some panfish to regain some confidence.

How do ya'll break a skunk streak?

Stop thinking about doing bad, and just fish.. "When in doubt, whip it out" and goto light line spinning gear and finesse fish. I am running livescope, and you wouldn't believe how many fish follow your bait but don't bite. Tough daytime bite right now on my home lake, but night bite is 100 times better at night than during the daytime. But scae back and catch something, and work up. Can't always throw the same bait every trip out.

Last few trips have been off for me, I blanked for the first time in a long time on Sunday afternoon. I threw the box at 'em!

Keep plugging away, i find that timing makes a big difference in my success right now. Stick with confidence baits, work traditional cover and/or where you see bait.

I think timing is a big deal too. I stopped going at the crack of dawn (because I like my sleep) and I've noticed less bites. Seems like I get more bites between first light and 10AM. After 10AM until the evening the bites just shutdown for me.

Wow, that last bit about the wife made me chuckle. I'm hoping that this fall I can get on some sort of pattern!

Slow down, then slower. Get finessey. That's all I have, it's working for me.

Quit over thinking and getting spun out. Seasonal fall patterns. go to the back of the creek and work your way out. keep It simple, square bill, spinner bait, flipping bait.

Fishing will be tough a few more weeks and then start to get better as the water stabilizes and cools down into the high 60’s and what Pk Lake said

Same during Sealy. Three days of power fishing every possible way without a single bite.

Fishing is always tough this time of year. Even the crappie and white bass fishing is tough most places right now. Lakes are turning over, shad are scattered from the back of creeks to suspended in the deepest water on the lake. Just that time of year. I wouldn't get to down. The reality is that fall bass fishing in Texas is almost always tough. Been catching lots of numbers on a dropshot around shallow cover working it SLOW. Drag it more like a carolina rig. Don't over work it. The other thing that seems to work for us right now is picking up a shallow square bill and just cover tons of water. Bang it against every bit of cover you can find. Lots of theses bass are really shallow on lakes that are in the process of turnover.

I struggled for 3 tournaments in a row. It was hot and summertime and I kept trying to force a deep water bite. My last 6 club tourney days I have 2 blanks, 2 great days, and 2 tiny limits.

One tournament I lost a 6+ in about 2 foot of water about mid-day, but I still wasn't convinced the better fish weren't out deeper. I was stupid and didn't listen to what the fish were telling me. Instead I fished history and where I thought the fish should be. I should have listened to the fish instead.

I finally went to the bank in the hottest part of the year and won one of our club tournaments, and had a 4th place finish in the next tournament. The 4th place finish was a 2-day tournament, had a 2.5 lb lead after day 1 and didn't get a bite the 2nd day. But my best bite (heck, my only bite) I could get on this summer has been about dirt deep. The only place I've caught fish deep this summer has been Ivie, every other lake I've fished I've had better luck in < 3' of water regardless of time of day.

Definitely been a strange summer for me.
