Tough place. We practiced in all 3 pools. Tried like crazy to get a punch bite going but it just wasnt happening for us. We fished the lilly pads instead. Weighed in 3, lost 2 on frogs that would have really helped. Went home Saturday night. How did you guys do?

These threads are depressing and funny at the same time.

What a miserable fishery. I hope I never go back. Bass Champs puts on a great tournament, and the meal Friday night was great, but the river is a terrible place to fish.
We caught probably eight small bass, with one keeper, on Saturday fishing mostly the main river. Yesterday we fished both main river and backwater without catching a keeper. The two big fish we caught were drum.

Fished Wednesday for 2 hours and had 7-8 pounds. Fished from sun up to dark Thursday and had 15-20 bites, GOOD ones at that! We shook off all but 3 and they were 2-3 pounders. Fished a new pool Friday and caught all small ones. Saturday morning it all went to [censored] lol. Missed 3 good bites the 1st 30 min and put a 16 incher in the boat… all our other fish had boats on them and the spots that were open, the fish were gone. Scrapped everything we had and started over. Found a stretch on the main river that was loaded with 2-4 pounders!! Missed 7 jig bites and our weekend was pretty much over, as we couldn’t get them in the dang boat. Super frustrating as we coulda sone really good, if not won the whole dang thing.

Practicing 3 full days with a screw lock and no hook is brutal. Went to pool 3 and had a fair to good number of bites but had no clue what the size was. Mainly punching hyacinth and salvania mats. Had a limit for 7 something the first day. Had 3 for probably 5 something day 2 with one lost keeper and a few other missed bites. Dumped those fish and drove home. That river and that city are the definition of a cesspool. I guess if Shreveport keeps writing the check, then BassChamps will keep showing up.

Just seeing this. I can’t thank H&W enough for getting us back on the water!
