The pelicans are back so it must be fall and the lake didn't disappoint. The fishing was on fire but the morning would have been awesome even if I didn't catch anything. Caught 30 in less than 2 hours. Water temperature started out at 72 degrees. Caught most of the fish in 10 - 12 FOW, but also caught a few in 16 FOW. All fish caught on a 1/32 white/chartreuse hair jig.

Sounds like you had a blast, which boat ramp did you use? Are many of the ramps open?

I live on the south side of the lake, so I used Caney city ramp but my trailer was off the edge so that's probably the last time I launch there. Log cabin I've heard is the best one for low water and where I'll go next time. Not sure about the other ramps on the mid/north part of the lake.

Beautiful sunrise… best part of the day especially when you’re idling along in a boat, full of anticipation! Good haul there Ron!

Mighty fine mess of fish Ron. The weather lately has kept a permanent smile on my face.

Ron, what are your concerns with the trailer going off the end of the ramp?
COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !

Ron, what are your concerns with the trailer going off the end of the ramp? Getting stuck when trying to pull the boat out. Is that something that I generally shouldn't worry about ? I have a four wheel drive, so maybe it isn't that big of a deal ? I've never really had to launch boats in water conditions this low.

Be careful not to pull your axle off. I've seen people destroy their boat trailer when the axle dropped off the ramp. A 4x4 might not be your friend if the drop off is severe.
