Looking to cast a small gunfish on top of busters (aka breakers) heads, and sometimes they are a mile away. For a spinner setup. And the 4# seems to break on an enthusiastic hookset, and gunfish aren't cheap.
If you've 'tried 'em all', mention that please, that'll help in my decision making.
UPDATE: My heavier braid is Power Pro, Max Cuatro, wonderful line. Could stay with that if no other recommendations come forth I guess.

I use J Braid 6 lb. and 8 lb. on pretty much all my spinning setups and haven't had any issues with it.

Not sure why you need to go less than 15# braid around here. 15# braid diameter is the equivalent to 4# mono. 10# is the same as 2#.

Amazon kastking line, been using it for about 5 years. If you tie on a 10lb leader with alberto knot it's the bees knees. I use the 8lb and 10lb more, but in the creek in the spring it works well. Wind knots on 6lb braid suck. Good price, and shows up at the door.. I agree with prev comment, the 6lb braid is wicked small, Palomar knot on this line or it will slip. Amazon Link

Expensive but really like the Seagur Smackdown. Use it on both of my spinners for finesse.

Cause when you throw a weightless fluke, or a small gunfish, it'll go twice as far. That extra distance gets me more fish. For those that made suggestions, thanks.

Bet 6# braid does not throw your gunfish 2X farther than 10# braid. The variance is negligible. The time wasted with wind knots and digging 6# braid out of split rings will cost more fish than the 2 foot increases on a long cast. You're trolling

You're trolling As usual, you post caustic responses, not like the average Texan, who, if they can't say something nice, say nothing at all. Troller. He's throwing 15# braid, I throw 15# braid, I want to throw 6#. I can handle wind knots. Please go bother someone else.

Update; topwater heaven today. killed the busters (breakers) due to light line. Eight lb braid with 10 pound leader- Gunfish. Cast of the country mile, which easily doubled my catch rate. With the 20 pound braid maybe went 60-70 foot, now Iām casting about 120-150 foot. Some were busting that far away so it was needed. Got a few on the popper and the nicest one on a whopper plopper. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2022/10/full-5999-158197-e61bd259_251c_436e_ba45_478bc69900f6.jpeg) ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2022/10/full-5999-158198-116ecdea_2a34_43c7_8398_e68660eb7453.jpeg) ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2022/10/full-5999-158199-d3570e5b_9441_42a1_8c78_487b39d963e1.jpeg)
