It’s low, be careful. Bite has been off for a little while now, but hopefully the fall bite is starting to pick up.

Just got to Flat Creek and fish to your strengths. Be prepared to tear something up. That's a guarantee.

Be bloody careful, especially mid lake N. Sand bars and an incalculable number of stumps. Catch it right and it's a heckuva lake.

Be prepared to tear something up. That's a guarantee. Tear up fish or equipment? There are those who believe Flat is worse than Kickapoo or the Neches to get into. Many a boat has been torn up getting in there.

Alternatively, flip docks in Ledbetter or Saline Bay and near-by Points/Pockets using shallow-medium cranks. Should get you bit at least.

Flat Creek is a 45 minute idle to get all the way to the back, it’s not impossible to do, just a slow trek. You’ll bounce off plenty of stumps but if you trim your motor up and go easy it’s not that big a deal. I try to hug the West Bank. I’ve seen people go in there full throttle up on plane, they’re way braver than me. I guess I’m lucky, I’ve never hung up on a stomp I couldn’t get off of.

I hate going to that lake, especially in a new boat, I know it is a good fishing lake, also hate having to idle for miles to get somewhere.

Fish it all the time. If it were me, i would fish boat docks! North end got sprayed about a month ago. Lake is a little low, so treking up north is gonna be rough!

I've got the Palestine chip. Worth the money but it's still rolling the dice if you run up north - guide lanes or not.

There is no way I would run those lanes up north at the current water level except for the one pipeline that is south of the power lines. Hell about a 40 yard stretch of one lane was on dry ground.

Obviously you use common sense during low water.
