The Fall Brawl has begun, and the crappie are right where they’re supposed to be! Let’s not forget about that beautiful October weather, either. Man, I truly do love this time of year!8-12ft main lake brush piles seem to be the most productive, with some fish coming from piles as deep as 18ft.

The 8ft Epic and 7ft Dingo from Power Crappie LLC: Home of Todd Huckabee Rods are what we’re using to help us swing slabs in the boat, with our best two baits of choice being White Hot Thump Chubbies from Constant Pursuit Outfitters and hair jigs from Slab Syndicate Crappie Jigs

Crappie, Catfish, Sandbass. Striper. Mixed bag trip or single species…You call it! $400 for 2ppl, with each additional person being $100. Max of 6.

Had some folks stack up a few nice fish over the weekend, with main lake brush piles being our target areas. Right now, a tiny pearl white Slab Syndicate jig is the most dangerous tool in my arsenal. 6-14ft seems to be where most of our keepers are coming from.

Water temps are currently 77-80 depending on which lake I’m fishing.

Nice tables of fish as always and I really appreciate you sharing additional info that most other guides keep private like depth, water temperature and lures.

I was hoping to be able to size back up to your Thump Chubby by now but the 1/32 oz hair jig is still what they are looking for on CC. It's so much easier to extract the hook using a 1/8oz jig with bigger hook than those tiny hair jig hooks. Plus, I can see the Thump Chubby much easier on live scope.

I hope y’all spank ‘em up there Todd!!

I’m right there with ya Ron. I think once those water temps get into the low 70s, the fish are going to be fired off enough to hit a chartreuse safety pin.

This past week (10/14 - 10/21) we saw our crappie holding steady at 4-12ft of water. A tiny little pearl white hand tied jig from Slab Syndicate is the number one bait of choice, with the Ghost Minnow Thump Chubby starting to hold its own again. Brush and timber are still producing the most fish, and the shallower we go, the bigger they get.

Current water temp has bounced around from 68-71, which to me says we still have a lot of good catching ahead of us. Typically speaking, the fall giants come out when the water gets into the 60s, so we should be taking some nice trophy pictures here shortly. We put quite a few 14” black crappie on the table this past Thursday, which definitely made for a happy captain.

We now have this Friday and Saturday (10/28 and 10/29) wide open, as the person who booked those two dates has completely ghosted us. Here are a few other dates available:

10/27
11/1
11/3
11/5
11/7
11/10
11/11
11/14
11/17
11/19

$400 for 2ppl, with each additional person being $100. We can talk fishing at 817-266-9811, or find us online on our website www.dfwoutdoors.com
