If you have one of these, how true do they run in power? Is a MH like a MH or is it more of a medium? I have a couple Dobyns and their MH is definitely a M.

We don’t have any stores that stock decent rods, so I have to order everything, hence having to ask. Thanks

I have a Expert Bayou, which is a heavy, and it’s a heavy power fast action for sure. Lightweight and strong, though.

All of my Falcons feel about right as far as power goes, unlike my Dobyns.

cant go wrong with Expert amistad. one of the best rods out there. rated as an extra heavy- a lot of beef but a very forgiving tip. you wont be disappointed

I have nothing but Falcons. I feel they are rated about a half power higher than they fish. Compared to all the previous rods I’ve owned.

I’ve noticed the same. The frog rod was a bit under powered and I now use it for swim jig.

So, you guys think a MH Falcon is more like a M? Sure hope I didn’t screw up.

I have three Falcon rods. The power ratings are accurate. What I really like about my Falcon rods is that the action is more moderate/parabolic than average (without being whippy). They are sensitive and strong, but they load up really nicely through the distal middle of the rod for a nice forgiving hookset (instead of a stiff broomstick hookset that can rip the hook out of the fish’s mouth)

You will like the rods.

I think the moderate fast action may make some of them feel like a lower power rod.

It’s not that big of a difference. Cara just has more backbone but both are very sensitive and light weight.

It isn’t a huge power rating difference. It is enough that I’d power up a model vs power down if it isn’t exactly what your trying to find. I use a 7’ heavy fast for shaky heads and weightless flukes. A heavy cover jig rod for c rig. A shaky head rod for wacky rigs. Weightless worm for jerk baits. A drop shot rod for crappie

What models did you get? I own and have owned many Falcon rods from Lowriders Caras. I love most of them.

I went with the Expert 7’ MH mod-fast, because I like a full cork handle and these are a dying item. I hope they are stiff enough for jackhammers, spinnerbaits and small plastic swimbaits, like the Skinny Dipper.
