I have fished Tawakoni regularly since 2015 launching out of holiday marina, and then the public ramp once it closed.

On the forum, it appears that most anglers are fishing what I call northern points (anchor, finger, cloud, etc.) for a majority of the year. I always have fished towards the dam. A run to north is not very fun in my boat so I tend to stay around the south end.

Do most of you launch from 2 mile, duck cove, etc. because there are better ramps that are closer to home? Or in your opinion, is the fishing more consistent on those "northern" points.

I am interested to hear from you.

For me the newer 2Mile ramp is a good ramp with a good courtesy dock and it's also the closest and most convenient. And free. I fish certain spots base on the pattern and time of the year. The northern half spots are very consistent for catching white bass most of the year with occasional bigs showing up. I often leave the northern spots while good sandies are still biting, and go hunt in the south for bigs, and often when I come back to the northern holes, the fish are still there. Lol. I got a little spoiled on Tawakoni. Lol

I did not like the old 2Mile ramp cuz it was too narrow, too steep. SRA did alot of improvements to 2Mile. But if strong South or East wind, 2Mile can get ruff but i can use Duck or State Park.

I started fishing Tawakoni using Holiday when their bathrooms were the talk on TFF lol! The new and improved Holiday should be great. Good luck.

I come from the east. I always use the state park. I renew my state park pass yearly. It's also where I feel most comfortable leaving my truck/trailer.

I hear ya, Notaguide. FYI the new 2Mile is way busier now with often bass tournament held there. And new picnic tables with roof covers. IMO the State Park is the best all around ramp at Tawakoni.

I am picking up my TM at Lake Fork tomorrow morning then head back to fish Tawakoni afterward at noon. I saw your boat boat two Thursdays ago, but too far to say hello.

That was an exhausting day. My boat is at the dealer currently. Headed to Port OConnor next Thursday for a 3 day tournament and Sportsman boat owners GTG. Can't wait for some clouds in the sky and to get back out there later in the month.

Ancl1: Launching at 2 mile gets you close to some of the best structures on the lake for white bass: Greenville Pump Station (THE best), Cloud Point, Anchor Point, and Finger Point.

The 2 mile bridge ramp is excellent launching. You have to be careful getting close to the highway pillars because some of the old bridge concrete is still there just under the water.
