Thought I would post this. Went down Saturday and yaked out in the surf probably 3-500 yards in rollover pass surf. Catfish after catfish on cut mullet. Finger mullet loaded in first cut. Shad and schooling activity every where. Looked wonderful. Tried a few crab this morning with no luck. Moved back to cut mullet and nothing changed. Rigged up go pro and sent it down on my rig. Based on my catch not real surprised what I captured. Probably 10+ deep.

It looks like I chummed first but this is just dropping the bait in the water in less than a minute.

They in there for sure.....

I was fishing with a guide out of Delacroix , La several years back. We pulled up on a spot in the bay, first long cast I made
with a soft plastic was hit almost as soon as it hit the water. It was a good sized gaftop. Second cast was another,
third cast made # 3. Capt Jeff said , catch one more of those and we will have to move. Fourth cast , yep , another gaftop.

I was enjoying the fight, but agreed to move on to find trout.

Looks like all I saw were hardheads. Way too many there.

I hate those

They will leave a line of snot up your line. Man I hate it when you throw under birds and it’s the old snot fish.

+1 hardheads I'd rather not catch anything than to catch a hardhead

Yeah those are hard heads and hard heads will eat anything and a complete nuisance. I’ve actually found that gaftop are pretty good to eat.

When you fish for bottom sucking fish, you'll catch.....bottom sucking fish.

Use some live mullet-That’ll slow em down

I've caught them on topwater too
