I was reading about how the new lake will have 23,000 feet of oxygen diffusers
adding oxygen to the water. Never heard of this on a reservoir this size, obviously
smaller lakes and ponds have oxygenators and fountains on them. My experience
with small lakes and ponds is that the fish are attracted and will bunch up around
these features.................Will these diffusers stack up fish around them once
Bois d'Arc opens?

?

Absolutely. Aeration will enhance phytoplankton growth in those areas (increased dissolved oxygen in the water). That’s where the baitfish will go, followed by the bass.

Great place to catch shad. One morning I got up real early and filled my bait tank in one cast and then headed to Texoma. I miss fishing Grapevine. Have not fished it since I left Roanoke 23 years ago.

Grapevine is great if you like sand bass and jet skiers.

No kidding...I used to have some good days pretty consistently about 10 years ago. Felt like it was the best lake in the metroplex for a while...but has really fallen off since then. I don't feel like the boat traffic has gotten any worse over the years (how could it when it was already a mess?!?!). Any ideas why it's not producing? Or maybe I just suck now roflmao

Has a huge amount of bait fish everywhere. Hard to compete with all those alive tasty looking shad swimming around with your plastic critter (for LMB) sand bass, crappie, and spots eat without discrimination. .

In NC, I've fished a city pond, a hundred acres or so, and it's trolling motor only, where they had these things everywhere in the deepest part of it. Caught some healthy fish out of there, I found out later that they shocked up a Bass that would be the state record for NC in there, over 16 pounds. OMG

I'd say they won't hurt!

Used to be one on Sandlin years ago near the dam in 35 ft of water, best I remember. Only caught sandbass around it.

Drove over the lake recently and saw grass already growing in it.
