Planning a trip down there this weekend. Have heard that the sea weed is bad. Anyone have any info about the beach condition? Fishable or not? Our plan is to camp around the 17 mile and spend 3 nights.

No luck at all on red fish. We did manage to catch 13 trout and lots of skip jacks and small sharks. We're planning on going again on the 29th Thursday thur Sunday. We usually camp down the beach between the 17 and 18 mile. If you go down that far stop and visit. Plenty of mullet in the surf so bring a cast net.

Dannng sucks about the redfish....Did yall just fish the surf for reds?? I'm bringin my yak and plan on fishing the marsh some for Reds. Sounds like a pretty good trip tho. We plan on fishing the surf too for sharks and just whatever we can get to bite. I doubt we make it down quite that far we have a couple guys that will be in 2x4 trucks. We will probably go down about as far as we can.
