Sorry for the language I have a potty mouth! (Video needs to be embedded. PM sent.) Tell me what I did wrong, I have swung a bunch in the boat and never broke a rod New video of lower rod broke.

Nothing that I can see. I broke an eight foot Crappie stick doing the exact same thing in the timber on PK @ 6 months ago. They are not cheap did not and will not replace it with same. Rod wasn't six months old.

Cordell Outdoors off 377 Tioga Texas replaced rod tip no questions asked. They have a great selection of baits and rods check them out next time you pass by.

I broke a 12 ft ACC rod swinging a big crappie into the boat. I submitted a replacement request and received a new rod, no questions asked, within 1 week.

BTW, I think it was just a mfg defect in that one rod. I have 2 12 ft rods and I've swung 1000 crappie in the boat over the last year without any other issues. I do usually use a net, however, on the fish that are close to 2 lbs now.

Last night first hook set the lower section of the rod snapped like a tooth pick just where it connects to upper part.

Had a 5 pound striper break my rod tip on lake Palestine 2 yrs ago. I emailed ACC told them what happened and 10 days later had a new rod tip for my 10' no charge.

Breaking the lower half of an ACC is really difficult unless the rod has been damaged. Wondering if that could be the problem.

Figured out why the lower half broke. I got a 10ft upper replacement instead of an 11ft. Due to the fact it did not go far enough down on the lower rod it caused it to break. Basically too much leverage.
Make sure you get the correct upper I learned the hard way.
I was able to cut off the broken part and make a modification. Now I have 11ft 4 inch rod. Too complicated to explain how I repaired it. Maybe I will do a video later.

dunno, but I think that's kind of a thing with graphite crappie rods. A small damage or defect and snap. E.g. I have multiple Wally Marshall BPS rods and I really like them, but had similar event. Always keep a backup rod now.  On my first ACC rod and its a joy. Started catching fish immediately and its been a good stick.
