Wife's Uncle Charlie introduced me to white bass fishing in 1967. Below is a picture of him sitting and Ray (my father-in-law) standing in Charlie's house on Eagle Mountain Lake:

That is awesome, I grew up on eagle mountain. When that water is down you can find a lot of arrow heads on the north end.

It stayed down that far in 1980 and 81. Uncle Charlie's dock was about 75 yards long with 10 fow at the end when the lake was full. In those two years, there was no water under the end of his dock. But fishing stayed good. I fished there in the summer of 1980 when temps got over 110 degrees. It was painfully hot to walk the 150 yards to the beached boat, but somehow was tolerable out on the water.

Dennis you still got your stringer? I found my fathers it is all brass. Had to replace the big string on it was all.

Larry, I keep one or two stringers. They are handy to have for various uses.

DC is a precision engineer. Bet all that info is stored in a spreadsheet in his head.... If I download it probably shows 153 million whites, 1.53 million hibbies, 153 thousand keeper yellows, 1, 530 gaspergoos, etc etc. frkazoid

You guys kill me! Actually, in 2009 Ray Sasser asked me how many white bass I had caught on Mepps spinners. I thought back and did some calculations and gave him my answer. Here are the numbers I gave him and he shared in his article :

I told him that from 1976 through 1999, I estimate that I averaged catching about 1,250 white bass per year. Since retiring to Cedar Creek Lake in 1999, I fish a lot more often and catch a lot more fish, estimated at about 3,650 annually. By 2009, that added up to approximately 65,000 white bass on Mepps spinners.

Since 2009, at 3650 per year, that adds another 47,450, so the count to date is about 112,450.
