I fish there twice a year, I launch at Carson Creek area, I head up river for 30-40 mins and work the coves and cliff walls back. I usually target large mouth and small mouth with Wacky worms, drop shot, Ned Rigs and swim baits. Always catch at least 10, sometimes many more. Love the lake because the coves are long and that makes lots of places to fish "Shady" and out of wind if needed. This is also a good Crappie lake, But I do not fish those. I have caught Walleye closer to the dam. If the lake happens to be off color, fish the dam area. Have fun.

Fished it last weekend - water is way down.. probably 8-10 ft. My normal bass spots were all on dry land or peaking out of the surface.
Water temp was still in the low 80's last weekend. Clarity was good. Lot's of bait fish and white bass chasing in the mouths of the creeks.
This lake usually produces a good bite for me on craws and swimbaits, however this time was pretty tough.
I didn't venture too far north, which may be the ticket because I didn't catch squat down south.
Good luck!

I fish it 2-3 times a year. Last time I was there it was up 8 feet, now I hear it is low 8 feet. Guide I fishi with every other trip swears by finding the dirtiest water you can find. But I always catch a good number of spots and smallmouth in the south part, especially near the marina. Launching at the marina or Carson's is easy and the lake is pretty easy to navigate. Just don't go running way back in the coves, there are some timber spots you can run into. Cliff shelves and points are usually good. The water is clear so i usually go 12lb floro on the main lake shaky heads and dropshots. But up river, you can fish normal stuff when it is more stained. Its pretty so you can't go wrong.

Chrome chug bug w/blue back with orange throat, each morning till your arm falls off, sew it back on and throw it some more. Whenever you really get tired throw a plum colored finesse drop shot .

My brother is there all week and it seems fine to navigate. Just adjust your electronics for the lower water.

I have noticed that several Oklahoma lakes are 10’~15’ low. Anyone know why? Is it drought?

It's been about 20 years since I've been on it. It is so deep on the main lake and lower end it can be run without any worries, the upper end may be a whole different ballgame. The last time I was there a gentlemen caught a DD on one of the upper arms that was a state record if my memory serves me correctly. I saw numbers on my fish finder over 400 feet and it can be over 100 feet 5 to 10 yards off the bank. I watched a show filmed from there a while back and they were catching smallmouth at a spot where the face of a mountain had fallen off into the lake forming a big rock pile to fish over. it would be nice to find that when I go back.
