My ultrex is 2 years old. The head is loose, in fact the whole thing just seems kind of rickety right now, doesn’t want to latch in place and raises up out of the water, the stabilizer leg got bent during a rough stretch on Texoma (plus the boot on the end of It was just gone today). Help

Southwest Parts in Dallas. Several places in East Texas.
If it doesn't latch down, pull up on the cord as you are letting it down to seat it. Let me know what they say, because I may need to get a re-build kit done on mine. Head wobble - I know about that. You can reseat it and tighten it. I'm looking to replace the head altogether with a "LINK" upgrade.

Thanks David. I’ll check with them for sure. The latching issue was new today. Not the normal re-seating. Sucker just wouldn’t do It. Thought about the link myself. Also considering selling It and going with the garmin.

If it is all "rickety" it is probably the rear pivot bracket bushings...they are made of plastic and break frequently.. easy to replace and will most likely resolve your latch issue. No more rickety

Thank you both. I wouldn’t know the first thing about replacing the bushings but I’ll get those anyway.
