We used to troll Buchanan in the mid '80's with Hellbenders and mudbugs with great success. Maybe it was those were the only lures that got down deep enough. I don't hear of anyone using those anymore. Comments?

I did not start using hellbenders till I moved to Tx.
Up north in Oregon, and WA, a simple chart like the following with line counters on your reel was sufficient to get down to 40+ feet and catch trout & kokanee during the summer months when they went deep.
