I'm new at side scan, just bought a Garmin Striker unit. I bought it as a dedicated side scan. I use my Garmin Echomap for navigation and traditional down sonar.
I've only had the unit two weeks but last Wednesday drove over something I didn't even know existed!
Anyway thought I would share...looks like there was a bunch of Hybrids on the right side, but it was late so I just scanned the bottom and headed for the barn!

Tech is cool, and you will be surprised at what you find. This year (on Grapevine) I found a john boat with motor (still in the lake) but want to try and move it up shallow. I was able to stand it up on end, but I need a left bag, or a winch. A big sailboat (Over near Grapevine point), and a upside down preasure boat in meadomere cove (too heavy to lift). Found lots of cool structures like you found, waypoint everything, you will be happy you did.

Cool pic. There are some tires all chained together in the marina by tower bay in Lewisville. Appears they were a wake breaker but sunk in a storm or something a long time ago. No doubt what they are.

I, like a lot of the ancient geezeers grew up with only a flasher . The technology of today is mind blowing. I was in high school when electric typewriters appeared . Livescope is the bomb.

Agree ... I've had Garmin Panoptix ... upgraded to LiveScope ... changed electronics to Humminbird ... bought MegaLive and still haven't figured out the best way to use them. I still rely upon DI and SI.
