Wondering if the replacement for the Holiday boat ramp has opened yet? I always used to launch at Holiday as I like to fish mainly the lower end of the lake. Thanks for any info on this.

I do see a Google listing for a Sabine River Authority ramp, but no photos or reports about the usability and safety of the ramp. I know there were some safety concerns about the free ramp at the dam over the years. Anyone used the new Sabine ramp? Thanks

We were there yesterday and drove to check out the new facility at old Holiday Marina. The gate was closed and a local told us it is not open yet.

I used the free ramp 2 weeks ago on Saturday. It was very close to the old Holiday Marina. Nice ramp. No dock. Got in and out of the boat on the rocks or mud.

Thanks Johnnlucky, I have used that ramp by the Hwy a couple times over the years but wondered if there were a lot of car break ins. Seems like i remember some posts about that?

Returned to the east ramp on 276 after fishing and found only the boat trailer, no truck. This was about 7 years ago fishing with my dad in his stuff since he had lived and fished there for 20+ years with no problem. We still occasionally fish it when I drive out and take him. Public boat ramps will probably always have some element of shady I suppose. The west side ramp is heavily used but also more eyes around usually.
