I have a 2023 Yamaha SHO 250 and I am concerned the lack of stream pressure on the "overboard discharge" from the water pump. I have probably less than 6 hrs on the motor so far. When I am idling the stream pressure is close to average but not what I would expect. When am doing the break-in in the different RPM zones, the stream pressure drops off badly. An extremely weak stream. Like it has a bad prostrate.
My question to you SHO owners: is the water pump output variable? Does yours do this? I am afraid I picked up some form of trash in the intake and it isn't flowing the way it should.

Mines a ‘17 model and it does the same. At idle it’s only about 2psi and wot it’s about 11-12

I think mine is doing the opposite. Almost good pressure at idle and next to none at higher RPMs.

To be sure I understand what ya'll are saying, is your stream stronger at idle,or stronger at WOT?

Mine is stronger at idle almost nothing at higher RPMs.
