Watched a couple of videos on how to do this. Just wondering if you guys have any tips or tricks yo make it easier or stuff yall do. Do I lubricate the impeller with anything etc? Thank you guys!

Some use a spray lubricant. I used dishwasher soap because it was handy. I did probably 10 changes on my Black Max and never used anything. It does make getting the housing on a little easier. Maybe I am just getting older but I could easily do the Black Max by myself. I think I would struggle with the Optimax getting everything lined up. The shift shaft is the worse part. I used a long bolt in the hole under the trim tab to help hold the lower in place. Shaft turns clockwise so that is how I put the impeller in the housing. Dude at Rockwal Marine says it does not matter because they normally flip. Use the little plastic tool to seat the drive shaft gasket on the housing. Lube the o rings prior to reassembly.
