Planning on sticking to Fiberglass. I had an Aluminum boat a long time ago and it just blew around to much for me. I’m not to concerned with towing and weight since I’ll be keeping in a slip.

Aluminum is fine if you don’t mind getting the snot knocked out of you every time there’s even a slight chop

Nice boat, those coastline trailers are the best in the business too.

Went and looked at a 2015 Blue Wave 2200 Pure Bay and was amazed at what 2 more feet will give you after I looked at the 2000 the other day. I like the looks of the center console having the top over it but concerned that I would not be able to instal a Bimini top. Anyone see a Bay Boat with both? Like to get out of the sun as much as possible.

And what are Trim Tabs? I’ve seen some with this option.

Trim tabs are really nice. My buddy has a 24' Skeeter CC with them and it keeps the bow from bouncing in larger waves. We got caught in a storm in the gulf and that boat handled real well considering the conditions. Most of the guides around New Orleans ran SX240 Skeeters. They are a top of the line boat with a top of the line price.

Only have 2 and they are not making any more. smile

Nothing against a Pontoon but I’m on my 3rd Basscat and I think a Pontoon would be too much in the opposite direction. I feel going from a Bassboat to a Bay should not be to much of a shock. I guess I’m getting older and slower and my fishing habits have changed. Bass fishing and small tournaments were fun but catching big Stripers and Walleyes is where I’m at now. Need to be able to keep the grand kids safe and make the Grandmother and parents happy too. Plus bringing everyone is a huge plus. Just want to make sure I get a decent boat for around 50k.

Coastline does make a pretty nice trailer.

Trim tabs are great on some boats. They can keep the front down in the rough stuff and improve the ride. My Majek doesn’t need them. Boat will trim down just fine on the motor trim. It rides pretty good. It’s been everywhere from the Chandeliers to Baffin. Works well everywhere as a a good compromise.

Blue Wave makes a good boat. My buddy has the 24 with 300 Suzuki. Before that he had the 22 Blazer Bay which was solid. He got tons of use out of it with a Suzuki 150 on it.

My Champ also does fine without them. As far as Ttops go I don't have one only because I keep my boat covered when not using. I thought about a Bimini. I had one on my Ranger. The problem with biminis is they are hard to fish under. I only fish mornings these days so don't really need anything. I have heard that there are fold down Ttops so may look into that option.

I had a T Top and took it off. If you cast a lot it is a PITA when you have more than two people in the boat.

The solution to any problem - work, love, money, whatever - is to go fishing, and the worse the problem, the longer the trip should be. --John Gierach

I haven’t lost any snot yet. Like I said, serves my purposes well.
