Hey everybody, just like the title says, I need some help for Texoma next week. My Colorado hunting trip had a last minute change of plans so I'm taking my parents to Texoma next week and staying the whole week fishing with them. We will be chasing stripers, bass, and crappie. We have only been on the lake one time, the best I recall we stayed around the lighthouse marina area? This time we will be staying at Eisenhower State Park. I have been reading the fishing reports for various species and searching here and the census seems to be that most reports are very vague and useless at best. I will be posting this on the other specialty forums for selected species of fish we will be chasing. Not looking for honey holes and coordinates but I would really appreciate where to focus our efforts( areas of the lake) and with what tackle for anybody that minds helping me out. We have a 19 foot skeeter to fish out of so as long as the wind helps us out we should be able to get to wherever we need to. Last time we fished there I was able to catch some bait fish with the casting net and repeated what the guide took us out and did minus the little trolling motor on the back mimicking a feeding frenzy I assume hmmm Thank you all for anybody that has any suggestions and tips, very much appreciated!!!!

Fish early, chase the birds and watch for surfacing schools of stripers

Should be an early morning topwater bite going on. You might check the dam area or those flats on opposite side of lake. You can tell the direction the fish are going by watching the birds. Throw topwater or sassy shad if they are on top, drop slabs under the birds for the deeper fish.

Yesterday we found some early out near the islands. Slabs in 30' of water worked well. If you have a thumper or splasher they will help. If you don't have a thumper look in whites/hybred section on how to do a bluetooth thumper. Good luck.

Striper have been feeding shallow on all of the flats. We have been doing well fishing the edges of the flats and the channel in 40’ using Carolina rigged live shad and thumpers. When you find or build the school, they are huge and have plenty of fish. You can try slabs as well.

Thanks for the tip. Today was our first day. We caught only small ones in about 30 ft of water with slabs. We were in the butterfly coves area. In the morning I’m going to run up to the flats around washita point area. Maybe we will have some better results.

Hey guys, made it back from the lake and been busy with the family. I just wanted post and let y'all know I appreciate all the advice y'all gave me and to those that sent the pms thank you as well. I was able to put my parents on some great fish and that was my whole goal for the entire trip. We had our best luck in the butterfly coves area and to the east of the platter flats entrance on the main lake body. I never made it past what I think they call Preston Point. All the fish that we got into were anywhere from 30-50 ft and most the time were hitting off the bottom it seemed. We cruised around and looked for the bait balls and fished those areas. All our stripers were caught on slabs. Thanks again guys for all the info.
