Any tips? My 1 year old needs to come fishing with me !
She's pretty well behaved, so i dont think there will be any issues with her pulling on the leash if she see's something.
I'm thinking about de-barbing the hooks, so if i do accidently get her, i can remove them easier.

As much as I love my dog and would want to take him fishing, I leave him at home. I am usually walking in some pretty rough areas, concentrating on fishing and surroundings, among watching out for snakes and other hidden dangers. Having my dog with me would be more of a problem than a enjoyment while bank fishing. Just my two cents.

Very valid point and something to think about. If she is coming with me it's going to be more "Developed " areas i guess. Bank fishing from a park on the lake, neighborhood ponds and stuff.

It depends on where you want to put your effort. Having a dog around usually adversely effects catching, since they take time to manage. I usually did not take my dog bank fishing, but she went with me all the time when fishing from a boat. She never got hooked but there were some close calls. I have spent hundreds of hours with great memories fishing with my dog.

When bank fishing, my pup would grab the just caught perch (intended for bluecat bait) right off the hook and gulp them down. So, having the dog around was a challenge. Also, bring along a small pair of side-cutters, it's much easier to clip the hook than any kind of action to save a hook. Yes, my less than bright, and way too enthusiastic, dog would also jump and bite at lures, especially on the back-cast.
Some dogs don't care, or don't care too much--give them a shot at coming along. Fishing with my idiot dog was more work than fishing with a pre-teen, and he's never outgrown it either.

Don’t forget snacks and water for puppers!

I took my dog bank fishing once, and he spent a half hour barking at a stump. Admittedly it was a pretty suspicious-looking stump.
