Hello all, I am going to start looking for some spots for alligator gar in the Brazos below Waco, not looking for spots but how far down should i start looking. Marlin? College station? any guidance would be appreciated.

Anywhere. Friend of mine lived on the river 5 or 6 miles south of town and he'd catch 100# plus fish quite often.

running my jon boat down the river i found a hole that had many fish in it even seen some 6 footers come up and surface fished it from 7 am to 3pm not a nibble even with them surfaceing all around me. i was using cut carp, and fresh buffalo i had caught that morning. i noticed a TON of small shad i kept catching them in my net and seeing them on my down imaging. bait everywhere maybe why i couldnt get even a nibble.
