Hello!
I have a 1999 Evinrude 175 OceanPro that I am wanting to have totally rebuilt. It has overheating issues and some of the cylinders have low compression. At this point, I just want to get it completely rebuilt, Carbs, lower end, top end, everything. I just want to have a reliable motor. Does anyone have any recommendations for shops that do good work and use quality parts for rebuilds ? Asking specifically for the Central Texas area. I read on this forum about Texas Outboard Rebuilders in Tool TX, just didnt want to have to haul my motor up there and back.
Thanks!!

It is not uncommon to drive for good work. We'd be happy to earn your business if you care to drive to Nacogdoches. Good luck however you proceed!

I have used TOR in Tool several times sent several of my customers to them. They have the best warranty I have seen with rebuilders and even pre break-in the motor before they release it. They are worth the drive. Call them and talk to them, they are good people.

I can tell you where NOT to go.
Capt. Mac in Austin. I wouldn't let him rebuild my weedeater.
Customer brought in a V6 Merc he spent good money on for a "complete" rebuild. It wasn't running right, brought it in.
TWO cylinders had no rings in them. Not missing one, there were NONE. Plus not one gasket, all orange pookie. What a snake.
