Just got my renewal notice for our car insurance. A freaking 27% rate increase. WTH

Nephew works call center for Geeko says its inflation smdh Mines with the gecko. Been with them for over 6 years and no claims. Told the wife their excuse will be that used car values have increased. Will definitely be shopping around. Surprisingly I just renewed my boat insurance last month and no increase, itโs through Foremost, a subsidy of Farmers.

No increase through Farm Bureau on the cars and house, no increase through Foremost on boat.

Insurance is such a racket, the worlds second oldest business. At least with oldest form there is typically some gratification at the end.

I shopped 3 different companies and none were lower then current insurer. My agent had Safeco do a re-rate and it dropped $100/year. My thought was they were over charging me but I get quotes every year. Allstate gave me a better rate on truck but higher on the house. The Allstate rate was with monitoring my driving. Boat is with Progressive. Renewed in July and no change.

ive been with a lot of companies and texas farm bureau is the only company ive had that doesnt have crazy rate increases

I have not seen an increase with State Farm. You are fortunate. State Farm raised my home insurance 15 years ago by 35% with no claims. I switched and the savings covered my truck. Their rate 15 years ago is what I pay today.

The sadly ironic part is that you can blame a lot of that increase on having to carry uninsured motorist coverage.

We had Farm Bureau and their prices went insane, this was about 2 months ago. Changed to Travelers and it was almost half as much, with the same coverage.

I had the same thing happen with Geico, they thought they were going to raise my policy by $64.00 a month
with no claims or any other reason for said increase..... they thought wrong.
I now have full coverage on both vehicles thru Progressive and am enjoying paying 125.00 monthly instead of
the 168.00 I had been paying with Geico.
